Time Management Skills

If you're NOT Beyonce...
I'm sure we've all seen the posts about having the same number of hours in the day as Beyonce, so theoretically, we can all achieve all the things that she does. But we know that's not true. Beyonce doesn't have to to the school run, clean the house, shop for groceries, take the car to the garage, walk the dog, cook a meal every evening, mow the lawn, do the laundry or take her elderly parents to hospital appointments, AS WELL AS do her day job. The reality for most people is a constant juggling act, making difficult choices and feeling guilty. And this is why there is ALWAYS demand for time management and personal productivity training. You can't help people to magic up more time, but you CAN help the to use their time wisely and stop adding to their to-do lists unnecessarily! That's why we have 3 bite-size ready-written training modules on this - because we know that YOU'RE busy too!
Let's start with the basics: Plan your time. We all know the models and theories, but how do you bring them to life? This module takes a practical approach so that people can immediately go away and find more focus to help them to be more productive. In particular by the end of the Power Hour they will be able to:
Recognise the main reasons that they struggle to manage their time
Clarify the main purpose of their job, and identify the tasks that matter the most
Use a selection of models and practical ideas to plan and prioritise their time in order to maximise their effectiveness
Then, let's involve others: Delegate! Even with careful planning and prioritising, there may be too much to fit in from time to time. This is when people need to delegate. However, so many people don't know WHAT to delegate, WHO to or HOW to do it. This module explains some core principles and enables them to create a delegation plan during the session. In particular by the end of the Power Hour they will be able to:
Describe the benefits of delegating for themselves, their organisation and their team members
Identify tasks that they could delegate
Use a structured approach to delegating to minimise the risks associated with it
Finally: Manage those Monkeys A lot of people (especially managers) are their own worst enemy when it comes to time management. they under-estimate how long things will take and take on additional tasks without proper thought. The final piece of the personal productivity puzzle is to STOP taking on tasks you don't need to, and instead support others in doing them. That's what our half-day session on Manage your Monkeys is all about. In particular by the end of the Power Hour they will be able to:
Recognise the different demands on their time, and what the right balance should be
Describe a ‘monkey’
Identify the personal ‘traps’ that compel them to pick up other people’s monkeys
Explain and use the 4 rules of monkey management to take back control of their time
So why not take a practical approach to helping NORMAL people harness THEIR version of Beyonce to be productive and achieve realistic goals in the time they have? (That incudes you!)
